A bit more on elective processing because for all the angles and implications it’s still a pretty big, damn deal. I am going to borrow from an idea I have heard circulating and add some thoughts of my own.
In part, this election is representative of people's coming to terms with the last 4 years after having been locked down, gaslit, and coerced at many levels, in the name of the global "pandemic." I was just listening to a long interview in which Matt Taibbi and Walter Kirn went to great lengths in discussing this and it felt refreshing to hear some very sobering dialogue on the subject.
The previous administration under Democratic umbrella went to great lengths to propagate an atmosphere of fear, misinformation and strong arming to coerce our entire population to go along with what they wanted. They repeatedly produced statistics and "pushed" a product that was not what they claimed it to be while shaming, firing, and attempting to silence or "cancel" anyone who had the gall to disagree from a professional platform or even share information that contradicted this agenda from a personal position. Posts were buried accounts, were "blackballed" and even disabled in the attempt to control and censor information.
These same people who initiated these policies and subsequent "rules" have the gall to say that people were not "forced" to comply with these proceedings. No, not at gunpoint, but they were coerced with threats of not being "allowed" to go out in public or even retain their employment.
Having watched multiple clips from various shows, how shall we say... more "liberally" inclined "entertainment" sources such as Rachel Maddow and Jimmy Kimmel. Not only were statistics blatantly fibbed, but claims were made by Rachel that not even the pharmaceutical industry can legally make about their own products. And where fear and shame laden propaganda was levied at parents in a disgusting "child's book" whose plot could be considered nothing less than medical grooming tactics using a child and her "relationship" with Faucci to coerce her parents into getting her vaccinated.
Let's not forget the heaps of shame that were piled onto those of us (myself included) who elected to not get the “jab” or who chose to do our own "research". It was an endless propaganda stream against us for not choosing to be crushed by cogs of the pandemic’s propaganda machine.
I happen to live in a state where the national vaccine mandate was vetoed by our governor—a Republican—and where mask mandates and forced isolation were fairly short-lived. But in other places this was not the case and many people suffered with debilitating mental health issues evoked by the isolation.
All of this happened under a Democratic presidency and though we may not talk about it all that much anymore, make no mistake—many of us are still recovering.
Though historically Democrats have stood for liberty, tolerance and free discussion they have become a party that "cancels" people for having different opinions and actively seeks to censor anyone who presents a different narrative than the one they have chosen to promote and this has been proven to have been enacted throughout this very social media platform (Facebook).
And that is only one instance where members of this party chides, bullies, and deplatforms people who have different opinions—the "wrong" opinions about various hot-button issues.
I won't even at this time get started on "gender" politics (okay, maybe a little), but I have some pretty "unpopular" opinions in regards to what stands for transgender "medical care" among minors eg: Don't fucking mutilate our gawd-blessed kids!
And I am not alone, but to say it aloud now makes us bigots, and haters, intolerant and even phobic when in reality I could give a fig what any consenting adult does with their own body or anyone else's—just leave our kids alone. Let them grow up and figure out who they are with the time and support that allows them to do so without chemically castrating and altering them for life. End rant (for now).
So whereas some people many say that the current election stands on racism, misogyny, and various "phobias" I invite you to consider that the opposing party has gone out of its way to gaslight and delegitimize a vast swath of the populations’ opinions, values, and even livelihoods—and people are over it. Maybe they saw a way out in the way they voted. Is this the "right" way? Only time will tell. What it was not, is what they have been living under for the last 4 years.
It’s not just the past either that people are attempting to overcome. It is the real fear of encroaching corporate takeover. There is a genuine concern that if the current administration’s “climate regulations” move forward as planned, which demand to make everything “electric,” these policies will “tank” smaller businesses, largely truckers’ and the agricultural industry’s ability to keep “running”, to keep family legacies alive and to put food on the table for their current families.
These among others comprise some of the reasons why people have “switched”.
And though I remain politically "homeless" I have to say I absolutely get why "we" have done this.
As with any significant decision there is grief to be had, held, and shared and I'm here for it regardless of what you believe politically our humanity comes first.
And I'm sure there are those who will utterly disagree with my stance here and probably block, attack, and "cancel" me. So do what you gotta. But it is one aspect of what I am noticing and there is clarity in what I see and feel.
Lotsa love,
~Justice
(Shared on my Facebook today, but I wanted it cataloged for here, too.)
I agree w some of this and disagree with some of it. I listened to Stephen A Smith talk about his views on the fuck up of the dem patty. I do believe they have decided what is best for everyone and think tbey know it all. Initially I was independent but then signed up as a democrat bcas unless I was democrat i could not vote in primaries. Major mistake in pur system. And proof that this democracy only works w dem and repu party but doesnt accept any other parties. I do disagree w u re this not being a misogynistic or racist country. This country was built on racism. So racism is in its dna. Misogyny the same. Like the white men controlled society ghru their own rules in religion this country is run by white men and tvey r scared to death of females. With good reason.
Other than that all I have seen is our govt no longer works. Historically we should be turning into a dictatorship. Maybe that is where we r headed. Time will tell. But our foundations are crumbling. And also I am not convinced yet that this election result was on the up and up. Time will tell with that also. But I do believe we all need to try harder to listen. Rather than talk. We need to listen.
Thx for your share.
I resonate with all of this. I am politically homeless too. I no longer vote, but I feel the country did make the best decision with the options available. I'm hoping RFK can really achieve his goals and #maha. That alone will be wonderful for everyone.
