Beautifully written in scope of the outward and inward description of the occurrence of today’s solar eclipse… thank you🌒

I missed this 'the day of," because we were in our little old Honda truck finding the perfect viewing spot.

Driving Texas Hill Country backroads we darn near alone.

Roadside ditches are the last stand of Rolling Prairie habitat and they were in full bloom that day. Bluebonnets, rose mallow, yellow primrose and too many more to name lit up infinite shades of green.

We made for Colorado Bend State Park, TX but realized it would be packed. We started scouting for cemeteries. Going through Bend TX near the park we spotted the Bend Cemetary on top of a hill behind the Methodist church.

Beauty continued to accompany us.

We picnicked in a bluebonnet meadow. Four gentlemen joined us, visiting with the departed while we waited.

The sky darkened, clouds played hide n seek. We laid on our backs to ease our necks, and a couple dozen vultures flew over to see if we were edible.

Totality came. We saw the diamond ring and other glories. We six took leave affectionately having shared a cosmic event.

Benevolence unfolded the day and no catastrophe ensued.

Good piece justice. I am sitting in my home, all blinds open. I went outside 8 minutes before it was to start here and was met with a wild, cool wind on a mid spring afternoon.
