The main difference between ritual and routine is the intention that binds the energy to whatever activity is at hand.
I have written about daily rituals such as the way I go about making my coffee. Really, a ritual can be anything, it is all about the energy, our focus, the pace that we move at, and the intention behind it.
I remember when I was cleaning an apartment that I lived in at the time, and I looked down and saw a copper penny lit by the sun.
“Find a penny, pick it up, and all day long you’ll have good luck!”
That little ditty is an incantation. It is also an affirmation of wealth. It is simple and everyone knows it, but too few of us tend to notice the little magical workings that are already a part of every day.
So step one to inviting in more magic is to take notice of where it already exists in your world: in nature, in movies, in children’s stories. Step two is to get to invoking and creating it.
