This is the symbology I am "tracking" in the world right now: The Mother—and Her unending love for us and for life.
The photo featured is of the medieval statue known as the "Virgin of Paris" being returned to Notre Dame Cathedral Friday night—5 years after fire nearly destroyed the iconic church. Look at the men gathered around Her, upholding Her, carrying Her rose-strewn bower. Men lifting Her up and returning her home. Chivalry which can never be fully extinguished.
France has a long running relationship with Mary, with the iconography of the Blessed Mother. There are longstanding rituals in which statues like this are carried to the water, reminiscent of older honoring of Isis, Ishtar, and Venus. It is said by some that Mary Magdalene landed on the shores of France when she fled Jerusalem after Yeshua's death. Yes, that is "legend", but what is not that makes its way into the depths of our psyche?
Does it matter if the statue represents Mary mother of Yeshua, Mary mother of Yeshua's child, Isis mother of Horus, or any other icon to the unending devotion and bondedness between mother and child? Maybe she is your mother, the mother you never knew, the mother you wish you had, or the mother you wanted to be.
The word "virgin" originally had nothing to do with sexual chastity, but was the "title" taken by women—priestesses—to indicate their independence and relationship with divine forces. Virgin means: woman complete unto herself.
The Mother gives brith to everything! It is up to us to determine what to with this life.
The return of the "Virgin of Paris" at this time is an anchor for our collective as we continue to navigate these tumultuous waters.
May She guide you towards what matters, offer you Her courage, and embrace you in Her unending love.
Lotsa Love,
